Yates 130 Birthday Ale

Rainy Saturday
And the chippies all fucked me…
Happy Birthday, Yates.

Name: Yates 130 Birthday Ale
Type: bitter
Venue: Yates, Swindon

Review/notes: I don’t often go in a Yates’, because they spell the possessive form of the name Yates’s and because it is a chain of all the same name and type.  But, this one really isn’t all that bad — cheap and with a variety of ales and the food is tolerable.  I was in town to meet my 7-day criteria in the Chippy Challenge but the chippies I tried were all closed up at lunchtime so Yates’ it was to be.  The beer, their birthday ale, was tolerable and tasted like any generic IPA you might want to drink.
