Life Sentence at Plough

The Old Ball and Chain
Has been on late shifts of late.
Opportunity.

Name: Life Sentence
Type: bitter
Venue: The Plough, Swindon

Review/notes: The spousal unit was working till 7 so arrival in Old Town at 6:30 meant time for a leisurely pint at the Plough, the first time I’ve been in since they refurbished last year.  Very good and wide selection of beers and ciders on tap but the new décor seems a bit yuppy for my tastes (really preferred when it screamed “local boozer”).  But, porch out on the ledge remains a pleasure.

The beer was a Donnington’s ale and perfectly kept and absolutely lovely.  Like The Woman who, soon to be off work, would probably like someone to walk home with…so I finished up and trekked back to the New Town to meet her as she clocked out.  Life Sentence, indeed.
