Sides: chips, mushy peas, salad, golden ale
Evaluation: The specials board at the Cove House looked tempting and Jackie was blown away by the paella she ordered but I can’t get past the old restaurant rule of never ordering the seafood special on Monday so I opted for a fish and chips platter that was truly sublime. F&C is always better at the seaside and the Cove House is right on the beach, but this would have stood up to any pub platter so far this year despite the industrial chips. The salad was ample and the mushy peas perfect and bountiful (roughly 5x the serving size you might normally expect).
