Victoria Arms, Marston, Chippy Challenge #81   2 comments

cod and chips Victoria Arms Marston

[The Chippy Challenge: to eat more fish and chips in 2014; see original post for details.]

Fish: cod ? bait ? hard to tell, too small to evaluate
Sides: laughably small portions of chips and peas
Evaluation: Insultingly stingy,  this is the first ‘small’ order that lives up to its billing.  Order at least three for a child’s size, and five or more for a more typical adult lunch (bearing in mind that they are 8 quid a pop).  Especially cute was the wee dram of mushy peas.  Everyone has always said you get fucked by the serving size at the Vic.  But, at least it was tasty (the three or four bites of it).  Original post for the Victoria here.
