The Bell, Amesbury, Wiltshire   4 comments

Bell Amesbury bell

I don’t know how I missed the Bell on my first trip to Amesbury except that I was very drunk from the many stops before. On that occasion, I ran from Salisbury via Stonehenge; this time I was running TO Salisbury via the Boscombe Down RAF base and along the River Bourne.

The Bell is a Wetherspoon’s and so is open by 8am and serving beer by 9 which fit very well into my plans for the day. When I arrived at 10:30, there were already hordes of old farts out in the garden surrounded by empty glasses peppered here and there with a few partially — and only briefly — filled ones. Best start to any run, I reckon.
