Porton Hotel, Porton, Wiltshire   1 comment

Porton Hotel

I thought I arrived a bit early but as it is a hotel also reckoned it was worth a try. The landlady was out on the porch enjoying the quiet morning and said that I looked like I needed a drink. “How far have you walked, today?”
Amesbury,” I replied. “About 6 miles, I think.”
“Oh, that must take a very long time.”
“About 45 minutes.”
Her husband came out, “yes, yes, certainly you need a drink. Please, right this way.”

The room was suffused with sandalwood so I took my beer back to the porch. Normally, I would like that but was afraid it wouldn’t sit well with my swollen sinuses.
