Wig and Pen, Oxford, Chippy Challenge #54   1 comment

————–Chippy Challenge————–

Wig and Pen cod

[The Chippy Challenge: to eat more fish and chips in 2014; see original post for details.]

Fish: cod
Sides: chips and mushy peas
Evaluation: Pretty good, if a bit overpriced.  Everything done as it should be thanks, no doubt, to the Eastern European staff.

Speaking of foreigners, the three spot (two parents and an adult son) near me had an accent I couldn’t place as I eavesdropped.  Surely they were Russian or Polish, I thought, then I caught a few words clearly and smiled to myself: Weegee…they’re from Glasgow, of course, and I settled in to my cider to wait out the food delivery.  Then, a few more sentences passed and the son waddled off and returned with mayonnaise and they started talking about frites.  Shit, they’re Dutch, I realised.

Days since last: 1 (Pig and Fiddle, Bath)

Monthly consolidations/compilations: January
