The Lambert Arms, Aston Rowant, Oxfordshire   Leave a comment

Lambert Arms Aston Rowant

From the Cherry Tree, I ran past the Cricket trainer and his equipment (that had left ahead of me) on our way to the Oxford Tube (the coach between London and Oxford).  The highway was busy, though, and I felt the stress of too many close cars zooming by so made the slight detour into the Lambert Arms.

The waiter didn’t seem to be in much of a hurry to pull a pint and I nearly left dry.  After I finally got a Becks (four quid), I realised he wasn’t in a hurry to clear any of the dining room tables, either, with most of them piled high with half eaten food and dishes and glasses.  This is no mean feat, as there is seating for hundreds in there…although it didn’t appear that there had actually been more than the couple at the bar on this day.

The beer garden was relatively clean, probably due to the rain the night before.
