I had not visited a new pub since January 20, 2½ months ago, so took the short Oxford Tube ride to Lewknor to try one I had read about on the Oxford H3 site. It seemed a fine old house and it had yummy Brakspear, well-kept, for a moderately steep price.
The initial part of my run involved an exploration of the village’s side alleys and copious farmland, so I arrived a bit sweaty. The dining area was open but the bar to the right was locked so I moved into the beer garden rather than stink up the fine old lounge with its massive timbers and iron stove. I’m sure I’ll get another shot at this one, soon, though.
