The Carrier’s Arms, Watlington, Oxfordshire   Leave a comment

On my return from the fish lunch, I saw that bicycles littered the lawn in front of the Carrier’s Arms and I expected a bunch of lycra clad tossers lounged inside. Instead, I found a bunch of lycra clad pensioners. Averting my gaze, I went to the bar and ordered a pint of Butcombe.

The cycle club was friendly enough and I understand the advantages the clothing gives: lightweight, fast drying, compression-tightness. But, why do adults insist on wearing the “team” gear? You know you can get it in plain colours (or black), don’t you?
