February Update: Chippy Challenge and Daily Tipple   Leave a comment

Chippy Challenge Feb graph

I haven’t fallen out of love with the Chippy Challenge despite the distinct slowdown this month.  We had to rent a new house which involves 2½ month’s rent (1½ deposit plus first) and the movers and rent on the place we are leaving (a luxury, but it is very nice to spread the joy of moving as thinly as possible).  Work has also been very busy so I just haven’t been out very much–heck, I’ve only been out for runs 6 times all month.  March looks better for the runs, new pubs (of which I haven’t been to any in over a month!), and fish.  I would have done one today except I had to wait on the cable guy.

The result is that I even went to a few pubs for my fish and chips fix despite intending to avoid those as much as possible.  None of those really surprised me but I think I should add chinese takeaways to the “last resort” list, too…they’re not all bad but when they are they are dreadful.  The breakdown is as follows:

# Chippies
23 Hing Hong Fish Bar Swindon, Wiltshire 01-Feb-14
24 Mediterranean Fish Bar Oxford, Oxfordshire 05-Feb-14
25 Rainbow Takeaway Faringdon, Oxfordshire 06-Feb-14
26 Lucky Fish Bar Swindon, Wiltshire 08-Feb-14
27 Trident Fish Bar Swindon, Wiltshire 11-Feb-14
29 Great Western Fryer Wroughton, Wiltshire 15-Feb-14
30 Terry’s Takeaway Swindon, Wiltshire 17-Feb-14
28 The Swan and Castle Oxford, Oxfordshire 14-Feb-14
31 Rose and Crown Oxford, Oxfordshire 24-Feb-14

The Daily Tipple was much easier to do on our tight time-and-financial budget…priorities, dontchaknow.  Still, the qualifying drink was mostly at home and mostly at the dinner table with the following results:
