The Imperial Hotel, Stroud, Gloucestershire   2 comments

More rail delays occurred on my return trip from Stroud, but I was fortunate in that it was BEFORE the train arrived, there was an announcement to that effect, and a grand hotel stands not 50 feet from the station entrance. So, I continued my wait on one of the firm, leather couches in the Imperial Hotel and marveled at the slate flooring and the incongruity of the Thai influenced decor (there is also a traditional British menu that I hear is very good).

Truth be told, I didn’t plan to write this one up as I only ordered a half pint of cider but since the bartender poured up a full pint the pub qualifies…that’s #1162 so far.
