The Parklands Hotel sits halfway between the two bus stops in Ogbourne Saint George and has a very well reviewed chef. I opted to use this as my waiting room for the bus back home following the Aldbourne 10K and was well pleased to find their ale selection entirely made up of Ramsbury species–I chose a dark, chocolatey Flint Knapper and took my broken body to a quiet seat near a newspaper to slow unwind and change into some dry clothing (it rained almost constantly the entire run from Aldbourne).

The girls running the place were very friendly but had a lot of hotel maintenance to do and, as the only customer, I spent my time in silent solitude. The Inn With The Well around the corner is probably livelier but this would be a good choice for a serious meeting.
