The trail was a beautiful sight despite the sophomorically comic place names.  Climbing up to Ram Alley for a piece of Dark Dale, then continuing along Cock Lane but bypassing Cuckoo’s Knob you will find yourself at the Bruce Arms in about 20 minutes jogging time.

The pub was quiet on an early Saturday afternoon, and the landlord made pleasant chitchat whilst pouring me some Pigswill then retiring to the garden to talk about the Norfolk Broads, horseflies, and swallows nests with a table of locals near where I sat.

It was but a brief stop, though, as I still had a half hour (or more if lost) trail jogging to get to Pewsey for some lunch.  Next up was the run to the Moonrakers….
