With some time to kill before the ferry to Portsmouth Harbour, we explored the hilly parts of the town of Ryde.  It just seemed better and better (and, like seaside towns in the States, full of would be — or should be — mental patients).  It was hot out and we needed refreshment and as luck would have it there was a Wetherspoons nearby, housed in the old S Fowler & Co department store.

I had a local ale, floral and hoppy, and J had a Carling.  We reviewed our trip and made plans for the return trip.  There was nothing really special about this ‘Spoons but it is a cheap boozer if you really want one.
