The White Hart, Calne, Wiltshire   2 comments

What is with the folks on this run?  Everyone is so nice today…almost like they are as relieved as I was to get two days of sun after 6 weeks of rain.  The White Hart was lovely and quite an old inn run by a lovely couple that took an interest in my day and in the other customers.  Pleasant and professional seems to be the rule of the day.

From the George I headed back down the hill to the Corner Cottage below the site of a Roman Villa then straight over to Calne stopping only to chat with an old guy out for a stroll in the wood (older than me, anyway).  He cracked me up and I would have joined him for the rest of his walk and a subsequent beer but he was heading toward the Lansdowne afterward and I really needed to wrap of this trip, anyhow.
