The King’s Arms, Ely   1 comment

Later that same night:

Our cemetery lecture was postponed till Wednesday, so we grabbed some dinner and a bottle of wine at the KFF Thai Restaurant, then to kill time till the bus we went to the King’s Arms next door.

The place was dead with 3 punters at the bar having an animated conversation until we walked in, then two of them slinked out pretty soon after we got our drinks and settled into seats by the window.  There were spider webs around the upper corners of the room.  The remaining customer quietly slipped into the back with the barmaid for something they had to speak about under their breath. A few other boys showed up as we were leaving to go to the Town House (’cause it’s closer to the bus stop), and we moved on into the night.
