The Hat and Feathers is just down the street from the Red Bull, and close enough to walk over for a lunch. The menu is the most reasonably priced I have seen since I got to England and I will definitely try it. There was only IPA on the pumps but I felt compelled to photograph mine as I thought that I may not remember what I had on the pub run this afternoon.
I was the only one in the place when I hit the door, save for the pub dog. Friendly and ancient, I thought that was typical: rubbed up on by every old bitch I encounter. Of course, she smelled better. Then, a bunch of college boys prepping for an exam came in and the bloom was off my rose.
The layout is funny, but this looks like it has the potential to be a lively place in the evenings. I didn’t get a good look at the front dining area, but I think it would be a real pleasant hangout with its large windows on the street.
